Digital Textile Connection: The DMIx Cloud Showcase

Smarter, faster product development

Created by ColorDigital in partnership with the German Fashion Institute (DMI), the DMIx Cloud is the first fully integrated cloud-based communications platform for designers and suppliers around the world to share virtual product data. Taking the product development process from analogue to digital, the safe, standardised environment uses real, physical data to produce perfect digital simulations with an unmatched level of colour and texture accuracy. This enables fashion and textiles brands to decide whether a colour or material fits their needs without the need to send or produce unnecessary lab dips or fabric samples.

From the 4th to 6th September 2018, the elements that make up the DMIx Cloud come together for a special Digital Textile Connection exhibition as part of the Next Tex Innovations Showcase at Munich Fabric Start. Learn more about the software and apparatus that currently connect to the DMIx cloud for smarter, faster product development below.

Defining and communicating colour has long been a challenge, but now thanks to ColorDigital’s colour matching software, hues can be converted into unique digital codes that can be stored, edited and shared over the DMIx Cloud.

Total Appearance Capture (TAC™) Ecosystem by X-Rite Pantone

The award-winning TAC Ecosystem transforms material scans into highly accurate digital texture files for use in 3D rendering applications as well as the Virtual Light Booth: an immersive 3D environment that maps material samples onto virtual objects.

Vidya by Assyst, Human Solutions Group

Offering an unparalleled simulation of human form, cut and fabric, Vidya, the 3D simulation software by Assyst, enables garment manufacturers to digitally check fit, fabric behaviour and drape on all body shapes and sizes quickly and cost-effectively at the click of a button.

Don’t miss Gerd Willschütz, Managing Director of ColorDigital GmbH, on the Keyhouse stage presenting The DMIx® Cloud: Digital Sourcing taken Seriously lecture followed by a Q&A at 16:15 on the 5th September – we look forward to seeing you there!
