The 6th edition of the Copenhagen Fashion Summit took place on the 15th and 16th May 2018 as the world’s premier fashion business event on sustainability. In attendance were 1 300 key players from over 50 countries, representing not only the fashion sector but also politics, NGOs, academia and media.
Fresh for this year was the Innovation Forum: a platform where fashion companies could meet sustainable solution providers, at their exhibition stands, via speed dating or even pitching their ideas on stage. Among the 50 exhibitors were ISKO (principal sponsor of CFS), I:CO, Piñatex, ECONYL® and Sustainable Angle – some of the leading sustainable solution providers to the fashion industry.
Hosted by ‘90s supermodel Amber Valletta and Business of Fashion editor-at-large Tim Blanks, the conference was packed with VIP speakers including celebrated sustainable fashion designer Stella McCartney, founder of her eponymous foundation Ellen MacArthur, ALYX Creative Director Matthew Williams, founder of Modern Media and yehyehyeh Shaway Yeh, amongst many others. Head over to the CFS Media Bank for all the speaker videos and summit photos, and you can also download the Copenhagen Fashion Summit Magazine from 2016 through to 2018.
A month or so prior to the Summit, Global Fashion Agenda: leadership forum and organiser of Copenhagen Fashion Summit, released their first ever 21-page CEO Agenda. Developed in collaboration with the likes of Kering, H&M, Target, BESTSELLER, Li & Fung and Sustainable Apparel Coalition, the report spells out the seven most crucial sustainability priorities that every CEO in fashion should know about to future-proof their company.
The CEO Agenda was built on an earlier Global Fashion Agenda report: Pulse of the Fashion Industry – an in-depth assessment of the industry’s environmental and social performance, published in collaboration with The Boston Consulting Group. Released just in time for the Summit, the 2018 edition is available as a full-124 page report and an 18-page Executive Summary.
