Where to meet Sourcebook this Summer!
From Malmö to Prato, Tartu to Torino, Berlin to London – and even Bangalore! – catch Sourcebook at these Fashion and Textiles events this season:
Bridge Talks, Smart Fashion City
24th May @ Malmö, Sweden
Sourcebook Co-founder and CPO Olof Werngren will be talking about what’s happening in the world of sustainable fashion, manufacturing and production as part of the Bridge Forum: a platform that aims to tackle humanity’s most urgent global challenges by linking science and business to find the solutions for tomorrow.
29th – 30th May @ Prato, Italy
Olof will also be speaking at the annual TCBL Fashion Change event that explores how the textiles and clothing industry is responding to major change. This year’s theme is “Building alternative value chains in the textile and clothing industry: digital, human, circular and transparent.” Visitors will be able to learn about and interact with innovative technology at work in Prato – one of the most important textiles and clothing districts in Europe – while getting to know the TCBL participants. 5th – 10th June @ Tartu, Estonia
Tartu, the second largest city in Estonia, will be transformed for five days this June as it hosts the Estonian Fashion Festival. Showcasing the best of emerging Estonian talent, Slow Fashion is the main theme for the 2018 edition, focusing on the value of high-quality materials, traditional techniques and sustainable practices. The festival is made up of three catwalk shows, a series of seminars, panel talks, street markets and film screenings, as well as a satellite programme in conjunction with local galleries, shops, studios, cafés, bars and restaurants. On the 6th June, Sourcebook CEO Marte Hentschel will be participating in the Discussion on Techno-Innovation – a new addition to the festival programme that brings designers and technologists together to explore innovations in textiles and manufacturing.

Addressing issues for the future of fashion, Marte will also be on a panel led by Professor Angela McRobbie and Siân Prime, brought to you by Goldsmiths University and CREATe: a research centre at the intersection of law, technology and social science. Also on the panel will be Orsola de Castro founder of Fashion Revolution, Prof. Ares Kalandides co-founder of Nemona Berlin and more – don’t forget to RSVP.
28th June – 1st July @ Torino, Italy
Meet your next fashion and textiles business partners at Torino Fashion Match! The brokerage event for local and international designers, brands, agents, manufacturers, retailers and distributors is now in its third edition. Participants have the opportunity to showcase their products, discuss new projects, initiate cross-border partnerships, get the latest on fashion and textiles tech, attend B2B sessions and thematic workshops, as well as receive free entry to seven days of catwalk shows as part of Torino Fashion Week. Registration is open until 21st June, then simply create your profile, browse others and start scheduling meetings.
FashionSustain Thinkathon during Berlin Fashion Week SS19
2nd – 4th July Berlin, Germany
Once again FashionSustain comes to Kraftwerk Berlin during Berlin Fashion Week (3rd – 7th July) alongside the #FashionTech Berlin conference and the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin and Greenshowroom trade fairs, making it the biggest sustainable and future fashions hub of its kind. This season FASHIONSustain turns its attention to shoes, sneakers and other footwear and will be hosting the Sourcebook and Future Fashion Forward Thinkathon challenge/workshop once more, where teams of experts put their heads together for 48 hours to find solutions to current issues affecting the fashion industry – details to come.
1st – 2nd August @ Bangalore, India
Meet the top denim suppliers in India and beyond at the second DENIMSandJEANS India on 1st and 2nd August 2018 – where Sourcebook CEO Marte Hentschel will also be giving a lecture (more details of which to come) Aiming to be more than just a trade show, the denim festival includes expert presentations and a networking dinner. Denim GenderFree is the theme for this edition, bringing a renewed focus on stretch denim in men’s jeans.
4th – 6th September @ Munich, Germany
Sourcebook will be presenting the 5th edition of the Next Tex Innovation Showcase at the AW19 Munich Fabric Start textile trade fair. The themes for this season are: Circular Systems, Advanced Manufacturing, BioTech Materials and Textile Interfaces. We will be launching a call for Innovator exhibitors soon so watch this space for more info!
