Recap Berlin Fashion Week July 2017
Berlin Fashion Week has shown that it will have a glorious future even without Mercedes Benz sponsoring – a strong sustainable fashion-, fashion tech-scene and great design will distinguish Berlin from other fashion metropolises more and more.
The Berlin Fashion Week finally started on Tuesday with a reception hosted by The German Fashion Council and Germany’s Minister of Economic Affairs Brigitte Zypries at Premium Exhibitions. Sourcebook CEO and mentor for the sustainable fashion mentorship, Marte Hentschel, dropped by to support the mentees Benu Berlin and Philomena Zanetti.
On Tuesday we attended the FASH – European Fashion Award 2017 at the Bode Museum, organized by SDBI – the foundation of the German Garment Industry. They award talented fashion newcomers, out of whom one of the most memorable ones was the winning collection by Sonja Litichevskaya (Esmod Berlin).
Among the highlights were the Retail-Showcase "JUST!", The Fab Talk "The Future of Fashion Retail" and finally the catwalk shows with a moody backdrop and an enthusiastic audience.
Again the Berlin Fashion Week presented a lot of seasonal highlights and confirmed the tendency to strengthen Berlin as an important hotspot for sustainable fashion. See you again at the next edition of Berlin Fashion Week between the 16th and 19th of January 2018!
